VISIONS FOR DUNEDIN: OUR HERITAGE, OUR FUTURE - HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT

The unseen, the unloved, the everyday, and the brand new. What will be the stories of our future heritage places?

PRESENTED BY: Dr Andrea Farminer, Heritage Consultant specialising in built heritage conservation in the UK and NZ. Positions include 3 years as Dunedin City Council Heritage Advisor and currently Conservation Advisor for Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga and lecturer at Otago Polytechnic.

Advocating for heritage can be exhausting, frustrating, energising and rewarding in changing measures. So when do people get the time to think about what’s next? What new heritage places should we be looking for, why and what/whose stories will they tell for future posterity? This Visions talk will explore some of our potential future heritage places, old and new and possibly surprising!

In partnership with Dunedin Public Libraries.
