Drawing from the Past: Using Dunedin's Heritage as Inspiration

28 Aug 2024, 5:30 pm

Dunedin City Library, 230 Moray Place, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9054, New Zealand

This panel talk will explore how history and modern video game design can be combined, showcasing the influence of Dunedin's early settler history and heritage on the creation of the upcoming video game "Apothecurse."

Lesser Key Studios, founded by Dunedin graduates Cait, Seymour, and Will, aims to highlight the fusion of local culture and digital entertainment. Supported by CODE (Centre Of Digital Excellence), the project leverages the city's gothic architecture and rich historical narratives, set in a fictional environment, to create an immersive gaming experience.
